Liam Murphy, a 6-foot-7 forward from Staten Island, New York, has officially committed to the Purdue Boilermakers men’s basketball team. Murphy joins Purdue as a graduate transfer from the University of North Florida, where he had a standout 2024–25 season, averaging 13.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Notably, he was among the top 20 nationally in three-point field goals made, knocking down 104 shots from beyond the arc with a 42.3% shooting percentage .

Prior to his time at North Florida, Murphy played for Columbia University. Despite being a senior, he retains eligibility due to his participation in only three seasons of college basketball. Murphy’s addition bolsters Purdue’s roster, providing valuable experience and perimeter shooting as the team looks to build on its recent success .

This commitment follows Purdue’s earlier acquisition of Israeli guard Omer Mayer, suggesting a strategic effort to strengthen the team’s lineup for the upcoming season.
