Chelsea Fans Name Their Player of the Season — And It’s Not Cole Palmer

The winner has been revealed after Chelsea supporters cast their votes for the team’s 2025–2026 player of the season.

The Blues have had a lackluster season and will not be playing in the Champions League next season.

Their standing as a European team may depend on how they perform against Manchester City in the FA Cup final; a victory would earn them a spot in the Europa League.

After Marc Cucurella, Estevao Willian, Cole Palmer, and Malo Gusto were eliminated in the quarterfinals, fans had four well-known candidates remaining.

In the semifinals, Moises Caicedo and Reece James were eliminated. Based on the season’s first half, the latter would have been the front-runner for this honor.

Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez faced off in the final, and the Brazilian emerged victorious as the season’s best player.

Joao Pedro’s outstanding debut campaign

Pedro’s strength in his first season at the club has been even more impressive given that fellow striker addition Liam Delap is finding it difficult to make an impression at Stamford Bridge.

This season, the Brazil international has scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions; not a single goal has come from a penalty spot.

Pedro is being pursued by Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window due to his excellence, which has made him a transfer target for the best teams in Europe.

Pedro will be at the forefront of Chelsea’s efforts to develop their attack under a new manager, but the team has no intention of letting him go.
