Calum McFarlane Sends Strong Message to Chelsea Squad Ahead of Sunderland

Jorrel Hato’s recent efforts have been commended by Calum McFarlane after the defender made yet another significant contribution in the midweek victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

After joining Chelsea from Ajax in his native Netherlands last summer, the 20-year-old needed some time to get used to his new environment during his first season in English football.

But in the second part of the season, he has been one of the Blues’ best players, making an impression in our defense both on and off the ball.

That was demonstrated once more when we defeated Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, particularly with a pivotal late-game challenge that kept the score at 2-1. McFarlane emphasized Hato’s development ahead of Sunday’s trip to Sunderland.

“Coming from a different league is always difficult for someone so young,” our temporary head coach remarked. “I believe that the Premier competition is a really distinctive competition that requires some getting used to.

When I initially assumed interim command, I had that discussion with Jorrel. I believe he has been our best performer—or at least one of them, along with a few others—since then, since Christmas. He’s been outstanding.

“The block against [James] Maddison at the end of the game is crucial to our season.” That essentially sums up his level, and we’re quite happy with Jorrel; he’s in a great place.

Speaking on the day when numerous nations’ FIFA World Cup selections were announced, McFarlane also offered words of support to his teammates who were disappointed to hear they would be spending the summer at home.

“I think I’ve learned that you need to view every setback as a positive in life and in football, especially in football,” he continued.

“There will be a large number of them.” Losses and situations like these are inevitable, but with the correct attitude, you may make the most of them.

McFarlane thinks our team is resilient enough to overcome any obstacle.

They can handle setbacks, which is why they are at this level and able to play for a team of this size.

They wouldn’t be international football players if they lacked that fortitude. The competitions they have won would not have been theirs. As gamers, they wouldn’t be as skilled. in order for them to handle any setback.

He is therefore unconcerned that the disappointment would have an impact on those players’ performance in the pivotal match against Sunderland on the last day of the Premier League season, which will determine our chances of qualifying for Europe.

“Today’s training was excellent.” All of the boys’ attitudes and ways of thinking thrilled me. “They’re pros; they’re elite players, and we all know, we emphasized it weeks ago, we need to win as many Premier League games as we can before the conclusion of the season.” They trained in an excellent manner. We need to score three points in the final game.
