Paul Merson thinks Xabi Alonso, Chelsea’s recently hired manager, might use the Europa Conference League the next season to test his team and ideas at Stamford Bridge.
Before Chelsea’s final Premier League match against Sunderland on Sunday, Merson said in his Sportskeeda blog that Alonso might learn a lot from the European tournament during his first season as Chelsea FC’s manager.
“Xabi Alonso will have the opportunity to innovate things in the Conference League,” Merson stated.
