According to Calum McFarlane, Alejandro Garnacho, Pedro Neto, and Robert Sanchez are showing encouraging signs about their fitness, and Levi Colwill and Reece James are in the running to play for Chelsea against Manchester City in the FA Cup final after practicing hard this week.
On Saturday, the Blues return to Wembley for one of the biggest matches in English sport. With our most recent victory in the competition occurring in 2018, we have won the renowned old trophy eight times.
We will play Manchester City in the FA Cup final for the first time, giving Chelsea a chance to cap off a difficult season with a trophy.
McFarlane will lead the Blues out beneath the renowned arch after overseeing our triumph over Leeds United in the semi-finals. This week, Cobham’s training was supervised by our acting head coach, who also gave fitness reports on five of his teammates.
Levi Colwill has trained well at Cobham in preparation for the FA Cup final, according to Calum McFarlane.
During his pre-match news conference, McFarlane stated that James, who was back in action last weekend after a hamstring injury, and Colwill, who just returned to duty after a knee ligament injury, had both trained well in advance of this weekend’s final.
“He’s trained well this week; we’re satisfied with Reece,” he said in reference to Reece. I thought he performed well when he came on, and it was nice to get him some playing time [against Liverpool]. Reece’s surroundings are therefore generally favorable.
“We were sure he could play those minutes before the Liverpool match, and he performed admirably. We’re quite optimistic that he can end the season in that kind of form because he trained well this week.

Against Liverpool, Reece James returned from a hamstring injury.
Colwill was included in the starting lineup for the first time since the Club World Cup final last summer when he started in our 1-1 draw at Anfield last time out.
McFarlane believes the 23-year-old might play against City at Wembley after his outstanding performance.
“Levi has had a really fantastic rehab, and he played for the Under-21s two or three times before he played his first game back for us against Nottingham Forest,” he stated.
Levi has had a great training week, and he performed admirably against Liverpool. Being able to put on that kind of performance after that break and in such a challenging environment says a lot about him.
“He has performed well in training this week, and we hope to have him on Saturday as well.”

Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho were absent from our last two games.
McFarlane was then questioned over Garnacho’s and Neto’s fitness, given they had both missed our last two Premier League games.
“Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho have trained hard this week, so both are looking pretty good,” he clarified. We also have a lot of hope for them. Thus, encouraging indicators
Sanchez, who suffered a head injury during our Premier League match against Forest earlier this month, was also out for last weekend’s match on Merseyside. According to McFarlane, the goalie has resumed training this week and might be available for Saturday.
Our interim head coach said, “Really positive,” in response to a question regarding Sanchez’s fitness. “We’re optimistic going into Saturday since he has trained well this week.”
