Liam Rosenior: Chelsea monitor manager who went entire season unbeaten

Liam Rosenior, the manager of Chelsea, may soon face significant pressure at Stamford Bridge.

Last weekend, Rosenior led Chelsea to a thrilling 7-0 FA Cup victory over Port Vale.

But before that, the Blues had lost four straight games, raising questions about Rosenior’s future.

Chelsea is keeping an eye on Xabi Alonso

Rosenior seems to be safe as of the right moment. But it appears like Chelsea is being ready in case they need to make a change in the summer.

TEAMtalk claims that they are monitoring Xabi Alonso, who is now unemployed.

After being fired by Real Madrid in January, the former midfielder for Liverpool is now available. Enzo Maresca and Chelsea parted ways shortly before that.

Several Chelsea players have publicly stated that Maresca’s exit has had a detrimental effect on the team.

However, Jorrel Hato is one player who is not greatly missing the Italian. According to reports, Hato is pleased under Rosenior since the former Strasbourg manager gives him playing time, something the left-back did not receive under Maresca.

The unbeatable season of Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen

Although Alonso’s time at Real Madrid did not go as planned, he performed admirably at Bayer Leverkusen.

Leverkusen eventually succeeded in ending Bayern Munich’s stranglehold of the Bundesliga by winning the championship in the 2023–2024 season.

After staying undefeated for the full season, they also accomplished it in spectacular fashion. The German team won 28 games and drew six under Alonso, finishing with 90 points.

Alonso would be a great replacement if Chelsea and Rosenior decided to split ways at the end of the season.

It wouldn’t be shocking if Chelsea made a play for Alonso at some point because they have previously considered him. However, for the time being, the team is prepared to trust Rosenior and is giving the 41-year-old more time.
