Breaking News: Borussia Dortmund sign Club Brugge’s Alexander Stankovic for €36 million

According to Bild, Borussia Dortmund may try to sign Alexander Stankovic, a midfielder for Club Brugge, during the winter transfer window.

Dortmund is up against rival Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen and Stankovic’s old team, Inter. The 20-year-old’s price may continue to grow as a result of the interest in him, making him unaffordable for Die Schwarzgelben.

Ardon Jashari experienced a similar circumstance last summer. Despite being a target at the Westfalenstadion, the 23-year-old eventually moved to Milan for €36 million.

In order to beat the competition for Stankovic’s signing, Dortmund is reportedly thinking of making a calculated approach for the defensive midfielder during the current transfer window.

What does Stankovic have to offer Dortmund?

Despite Pascal Rodríguez’s return to Brighton this month, BVB has a strong midfield. They have Jude Bellingham, Marcel Sabitzer, Felix Nmecha, and Emre Can in midfield.

Alexander’s signing would be comparable to Bellingham’s summer arrival. Alexander is the son of former Inter star Dejan Stankovic. Stankovic is a potent defensive midfielder with outstanding passing skills.

After moving from Inter for €9.5 million in the summer, the 20-year-old has made 30 appearances for Brugge this season. In the Champions League earlier this season, Stankovic even had an appearance against Bayern Munich.
