He May Not Come Back: Auburn Fans Boo Injured Alabama RB Jam Miller

F— You, Bama’: Auburn Fans Spark Outrage After Chant During Player Injury

As Jam Miller was evaluated by training staff during the Iron Bowl, the Auburn audience reached a level so low that even Alabama fans didn’t think it was possible.

The home crowd reached a low point that was so disgraceful that even the Alabama supporters present were taken aback as the Alabama Crimson Tide marched into the Auburn Tigers’ stadium and won another Iron Bowl over their rivals.

When Alabama running back Jam Miller fell down with an injury, the team’s medical personnel came onto the field to evaluate him. The Auburn fans then started chanting, which was, to put it mildly, abhorrent.

As Miller was being assessed, the crowd chanted, “F— you, Bama.”

A player’s health should never be compromised by rivalries.

It’s understandable to communicate that sentiment throughout a game, especially a rivalry game as hate-filled as the Iron Bowl is. But it’s unacceptable to do that while a young athlete is in agony on the ground, and Auburn supporters need to feel ashamed.

Even if the audience had begun the song before Miller’s fall, the chant ought to have been stopped as soon as they noticed him on the ground.

Miller gained 83 yards on 15 rushes and 12 yards on two receptions before his injury forced him to leave the game. While he never found the end zone, he did lead the club in rushing yards and certainly left his impact before exiting.

Following the game, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer reported that Miller had suffered “a lower leg injury” and that the team will “probably have more information on Monday.”

DeBoer has yet to release any further information on Miller’s situation, and the Crimson Tide are waiting on pins and needles as they wait to hear if he will participate in the team’s next matchup: the SEC Championship.

Alabama and Georgia are ready to kick off from Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 6, to determine who will walk away from the regular season with the conference title. While the Georgia Bulldogs have sealed their position in the College Football Playoff, the Tide might have to count on the win to gain a berth.
