Oklahoma City University (OCU) has announced a gift totaling nearly $8 million from the estate of Robert and Alice Dangott.

The bequest comes as part of a $22.5 million planned estate gift made to the Oklahoma Methodist Foundation by the couple, members of the First United Methodist Church of Okmulgee who died in 2014 and 2020, respectively. The gift includes a cash award of approximately $7.5 million as well as additional land, insurance, and mineral assets that are yet to be liquidated. OCU anticipates the unrestricted gift will generate income of more than $500,000 a year to address critical needs at the school.

“The importance of unrestricted gifts like this cannot be overstated,” said OCU president Kenneth Evans. “These funds will allow us the flexibility to address important issues on campus as they arise year to year, for many years to come.”
