4. Head Coaching Roles at Fresno State and Washington
DeBoer returned to Fresno State as head coach in 2020, leading the team to a 12–6 record over two seasons. In 2022, he took over as head coach at the University of Washington, achieving a 25–3 record over two seasons and guiding the Huskies to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in 2023.

In January 2024, following Nick Saban’s retirement, DeBoer was appointed head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. He began his tenure with a 104–12 overall record as a head coach, including a 12–2 record against top 25 teams and a 24–6 mark in one-score contests.
