The Detroit Tigers pursued former Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman throughout the offseason.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, Bregman opted for the Red Sox instead. The two-time All-Star signed a three-year, $120 million contract with opt-outs following the next two seasons.
Tigers general manager Scott Harris admitted Friday he wasn’t disappointed in Bregman’s choice. The Athleticreported the Tigers offered Bregman a six-year, $171 million contract.
