Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is set to open a new stand at local non-league side Needham Market FC.

The Marketmen were in the National League North last season, but finished 21st, dropping back down to the Southern League Premier Division Central. They sit 13th in that division after nine games, with 12 points from three wins, three draws and three defeats.

Later this month, they will be visited by Blues boss McKenna, who is set to open the new Main Stand at Bloomfields.

This will happen on Wednesday, October 22nd – the day after Town face Charlton Athletic at Portman Road. Needham Market will take on Suffolk rivals Bury Town, managed by former Ipswich midfielder Cole Skuse.

“Following in the proud footsteps of Sir Bobby Robson, we are delighted to confirm that Kieran McKenna will have the honour of officially opening the new Main Stand at Bloomfields,” the club confirmed.

“This marks a significant moment in the club’s history, celebrating the recent success of the club and our continued growth.

“The opening will also celebrate the volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to making this event possible, as well as our generous sponsors, whose support is greatly appreciated.

“Gates will be open from 18.00, with the stand opening to take place from 18:45, with segregation in place on police instructions supporters are advised to buy online, in order to reduce queues on arrival.”
