Elon Musk has unveiled a bold – and detailed – vision for Mars.
It starts with one uncrewed Starship traveling to the red planet next year and culminates with thousands of spacecraft headed there every two years, carrying people, supplies and a new form of government.
“This is a tentative game plan,” Musk said last week in South Texas, “ … to make a civilization on Mars self-sustaining and get it to that critical point where, if the resupply ships from Earth stop coming for any reason, Mars still succeeds.”
