Derby County head coach John Eustace has confirmed winger Corey Blackett-Taylor will miss the next six weeks with injury.
Blackett-Taylor provided the cross for Carlton Morris’ goal in the 3-1 defeat to Stoke on Saturday, but limped off with a hamstring problem with 10 minutes left.
His absence leaves Derby short on recognised wingers, but Eustace said that while the club were looking to improve the squad, they would not be rushed into panic buys.
“Possibly if the right ones are available,” he told BBC Radio Derby. “We can’t bring in players just for the sake of it, we’ll have to look at it.
“I know the cub are working very hard on the recruitment side so we’ll just take it from there.”
After finishing 19th in the Championship last season, the Rams have added 11 new faces to the squad in Eustace’s first transfer window with the club.
But the Derby boss has urged patience and stressed a squad overhaul will take time to bed in.
“I think it just shows that when people are asking questions about the team, they understand where we are as a squad and not to get too carried away with the lows or the highs and let’s be sensible how we’re talking,” Eustace added.
“We’re building over the next seven, eight, nine months, not the next seven, eight, nine days.
“We’ve had a disappointing result on Saturday but we’ve had a squad of players who’ve been really competitive, with a great attitude and let’s build properly and see where we are at the end of the season.”
Derby head to Championship rivals West Brom in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday (19:45 BST) before hosting Coventry City in the Championship on Saturday lunchtime.
