Massimiliano Allegri has returned to AC Milan with a clear mission: to restore the club to its former glory. Following a disappointing eighth-place finish in Serie A during the 2024–25 season, Milan turned to the experienced manager to lead the team back to the Champions League. Allegri, who previously managed Milan from 2010 to 2014, expressed his determination to revive the club’s fortunes. “The goal for this season is to return to the Champions League as a club like AC Milan has to play in Europe,” Allegri stated.
A key part of Allegri’s strategy involves the acquisition of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric from Real Madrid. At 39, Modric brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team. Allegri described Modric as “a proven champion who does not need any introduction” and emphasized his role as a “role model not only from the discipline but technical perspective.”
