Derby County sent transfer verdict amid interest in Blackburn Rovers duo Danny Batth and Andi Weimann

Derby County have reportedly expressed interest in signing Blackburn Rovers duo Danny Batth and Andi Weimann, but Rovers have made it clear that they have no intention of letting either player leave.

Batth, 33, joined Blackburn on a one-year deal in August 2024 after a season with Norwich City. A commanding presence in central defence, he has made 37 appearances for Rovers, contributing two goals. Despite his age, Batth’s wealth of Championship experience—over 300 appearances—has been invaluable to Blackburn’s defensive stability. The club offered him a new contract on May 19, 2025, underscoring their commitment to retaining him.

Weimann, 33, has been a versatile attacking option for Blackburn since joining in August 2024. He has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 34 appearances, often coming off the bench to make significant impacts. Notably, he scored a crucial equalizer against Norwich City in March 2025 . Despite missing the remainder of the 2024–25 season due to a meniscus injury, Blackburn offered him a new deal on May 19, 2025, indicating their desire to keep him at the club.

Both players have been integral to Blackburn’s squad, and the club’s recent contract offers reflect their importance. With the summer transfer window approaching, it appears that Derby County’s interest will not result in departures from Ewood Park.
