Sealed Deal: Derby County winger signs for MK Dons

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has completed a move to Milton Keynes Dons, joining the League Two club on a permanent deal from Derby County. The 33-year-old winger reunites with former Rams manager Paul Warne at Stadium MK, marking a new chapter in his extensive career.

Mendez-Laing’s career began at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he made his professional debut in 2009. He later joined Peterborough United, followed by stints at Portsmouth, Shrewsbury Town, and Cambridge United. His time at Rochdale was particularly notable, with 83 appearances and 15 goals. A move to Cardiff City in 2017 saw him achieve Premier League promotion in the 2017–18 season. Subsequent moves included Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday, and Derby County. At Derby, Mendez-Laing made 131 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing 15 assists, setting a club record for league assists in a season.

Internationally, Mendez-Laing represented England at youth levels before switching allegiance to Guatemala. Since 2023, he has earned 17 caps for the Guatemalan national team.
