Saniyah Hall, a 6-foot guard from Montverde Academy in Florida, has committed to play for the University of South Carolina’s women’s basketball team.

Hall, a standout in the Class of 2026, is widely regarded as one of the top recruits in her class, holding the No. 3 overall ranking by ESPNW. Her commitment adds to the Gamecocks’ already impressive recruiting class, which includes top-tier talent such as Joyce Edwards, the 2024 Morgan Wooten National Girls Player of the Year.

Hall’s basketball journey began in her hometown of Lorain, Ohio, where she played for the Laurel School. During her freshman year, she averaged 21 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 4.2 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game, earning recognition as the Division III Northeast Lakes District Player of the Year. Her exceptional performance led to her being named a finalist for Ohio’s Ms. Basketball at just 14 years old. In pursuit of greater competition and development, Hall transferred to Montverde Academy, a renowned basketball program in Florida, for her sophomore year. At Montverde, she continued to excel, leading the team with averages of 25.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Her standout performances included a 31-point game in the regional finals, showcasing her scoring prowess and leadership on the court.

In addition to her high school achievements, Hall has represented the United States on the international stage. She was named to the 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s U18 National Team, further highlighting her skill and potential.

Hall’s commitment to South Carolina is a significant addition to the Gamecocks’ program. Under the leadership of head coach Dawn Staley, South Carolina has established itself as a powerhouse in women’s college basketball, securing the 2024 NCAA championship with an undefeated season. Hall’s arrival adds to a roster that already includes standout players like Joyce Edwards, ensuring that the Gamecocks will remain a dominant force in the Southeastern Conference and on the national stage.

With Hall’s commitment, South Carolina continues to build on its reputation for attracting elite talent and competing at the highest levels of women’s college basketball. Her addition promises to bring further success and excitement to the Gamecocks’ program in the coming years.
