Breaking: Auburn Tigers land premier JUCO college basketball top talent

Auburn Tigers signed a top JUCO college basketball player on Sunday.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Abdul Bashir has committed to Auburn via X. Bashir, a combo guard, attends Casper College in Wyoming.

Bashir, who stands 6’7″ and weighs 180 pounds, received offers from Nebraska, Seton Hall, UCF, Kansas State, Texas A&M, and others.

Auburn defeated No. 2 Alabama 94-85 on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Six Auburn players ended with ten or more points.

Auburn’s best scorer was forward Johni Broome, who had 19 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists.

According to Tipton, Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl prioritized Bashir during the recruitment process.

“I chose Auburn because Coach Pearl and his staff made me feel like a priority, and they have a great resume with people like me and are amazing at developing players,” Bashir said.

Bashir is a force for Casper College, scoring 28.2 points per game this season. He has the second-highest point average per game at the JUCO level.

Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class includes Bashir, Sebastian Williams-Adams (four-star small forward), Kaden Magwood (four-star shooting guard), and Simon Walker.

Auburn’s victory over Alabama gives it a greater advantage over its in-state foe in the conference standings. The Tigers now lead the SEC with an 11-1 record and an overall record of 23-2.
